In a word “Muppets Haunted Mansion” is spook-tacular! As a lifelong Mansion fan, it as like I died and went to heaven! There are so many references and moments lifted directly from the ride that you’ll definitely want to watch it more than once.
If you’re just a fan of the Muppets, you’ll be delighted to find that it’s some of their best work in years.
The premise is simple, Gonzo is looking to complete a “challenge,” you know the kind you’ll find on TikTok, to stay in everyone’s favorite spooky old mansion. Pepe the King Prawn tags along, thinking it’s one of those totally real crazy Hollywood parties with all the celebrities. Hilarity ensues.
All your Muppet favorites make cameos, including two of my favorites Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and his assistant, Beaker, who feature as the busts who’s head’s follow you in the hallway or library. Kermit appears, along with Miss Piggy.
One of my favorite moments comes when Kim Irvine, the famed Imagineer who’s mother appears in the classic ride as the disembodied head of Madame Leota, interacts with Miss Piggy. Trust me, it’s fantastic. The other cameos were great, but I’m not much on celebrity culture.
I’m sworn to secrecy about some of the best moments so I’ll let you find out about the fun these “foolish Muppets” get into on your own, but trust me when I say that you’ll want “hurry back, hurry back.”
