As we previously reported, work on Sleeping Beauty Castle has begun today with walls appearing all around the castle, blocking most entrances into Fantasyland. Until the refurbishment is complete guests will not be able to access Fantasyland through the drawbridge, Snow White’s Wishing Well, or Fantasy Faire, although this may be confusing to guests new to the park, as the sign in front of the construction wall says, guests can access Fantasyland through the Big Thunder Trail or the parade route along the Matterhorn.
Expect the castle to soon be covered in tarps, as has been done during previous castle refurbishments. This refurbishment is expected to be focused on the castle’s roof and spires, which were damaged by the 60th Anniversary decorations.
