Disneyland has shared an update on ticket purchasing after a frustrating day of waiting left many guests leaving dissatisfied. The virtual queue opened at 6 AM PT this morning and quickly wait times shot up over an hour, with some guests reporting having waited over seven hours for the chance to buy tickets and book a visit.
By the evening, all tickets for the resort’s reopening day, April 30th, had completely sold out, and by evening tickets were partially gone for guests hoping to visit on the opening day of Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure.
Disneyland released the following statement on the wait times:
“We are experiencing high demand given the historic nature of the Disneyland Resort’s reopening. To deliver a strong Guest experience, we are deliberately pulsing Guests through the system and, therefore, wait times may be several hours or more depending on when you joined the queue. We still have plenty of reservation availability, and we plan to keep the system open throughout the night to accommodate the demand. Please don’t refresh and we will get you through the queue as soon as we can. We know you are just as excited to return to the Disneyland Resort as we are to welcome you back, and we thank you for your patience as we work to accommodate as many Guests as possible.”

The reservation system suffered technical issues throughout the day and even partially took down Walt Disney World Resort’s mobile app, making the frustration a bi-coastal experience.
