Thanks to the Orlando Sentinel, we now have more information about the Disney Skyliner.
Running on over six miles of cable, the gondolas will travel around at about 11 mph, while giving passengers a magical view of Walt Disney World Resort’s lakes, roads, woods, and theme parks. The typical ride will last between five to 15 minutes.
Inside the gondolas, twin wooden benches can carry up to 10 people.
Some have complained on Twitter about the lack of AC. However, Thomas Mazloum, a Disney senior vice president who oversees transportation and resorts, argues that the gondolas are “absolutely comfortable. We have specifically designed them with the Florida climate in mind.” He pointed out reflective windows that are designed to block out sunlight and the mesh screens on both sides to allow for a breeze.
All 300 gondolas will feature one of 22 unique character inspired designs, from Mickey Mouse to the Hitchhiking Ghosts, there’s a car for everyone!
