We’ve got sunny news from the sunshine state to share!
Disney’s new 270-acre solar farm is now online! Built in collaboration with the Built in collaboration with the Reedy Creek Improvement District and Origis Energy USA, this 50-megawatt solar array will generate a lot of juice!
This facility is expected to generate enough power from the sun to operate two of our four theme parks in Central Florida annually. It will also significantly reduce net greenhouse gas emissions, joining the numerous efforts The Walt Disney Company has launched to deliver its 2020 goal of reducing emissions by 50% compared to 2012.
This array isn’t the first Disney has built either, in 2016 they launched a 22-acre, 5-megawatt solar facility shaped like Mickey Mouse!
Gray is a lifelong Disney fan! From Disney+ to the parks, he loves it all. His favorite Disney movie is Beauty and the Beast, and his favorite attraction is The Haunted Mansion.
