Well Innoventions fans, we knew this day was coming. Today Disney has filed permits with Orange County to begin “Project G: 202-1,” otherwise known as the demolition of Innoventions East. The filing doesn’t go into any detail about the project, but we already know that Electric Umbrella and MouseGear will be closing in a few months (possibly on November 24, 2019, as those are the last operating hours listed for Electric Umbrella) as the demolition gets underway.
Why call this project G: 202-1? Well, it’s surprisingly simple, Walt Disney Imagineering is referring to this historic transformation of Epcot as Project Gamma; the more you know!
