After hearing today that a figure depicting Jessica Rabbit in the back of a car surrounded by the villainous Weasels was removed earlier today from Disneyland Park’s Toontown classic “Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin” Disneyland fans were left wondering what was going on.
Well, thanks to a story from the OC Register, we can now confirm that the attraction is the next in the line of Disney Parks staples to be made “more relevant” and culturally sensitive.
The new iteration of the spinning dark ride will cast Jessica Rabbit, now a private eye, as the central character of the attraction.
“Jessica Rabbit has determined it is past time for her to throw her fedora in the ring by starting her own private investigation service,” according to the new Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin backstory. “Watch out weasels, your reign of terror is over.”
Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin joins Disneyland classics Pirates of the Caribbean and Jungle Cruise in having recently gotten a pixie dusting of relevance.
