On Wednesday, streaming audiences will have the opportunity to become acquainted with Marvel’s newest superhero in “Moon Knight.” Audiences won’t know what to think about Steven Grant – or is he Marc Spector? Is he both?
Those were the questions that went through my mind as I watched Episode One, which if I am completely honest, wasn’t what I was expecting from a Marvel show. It has a horror and supernatural flare, which I thought was a really interesting choice and quite a departure from what audiences expect from something from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Most of my questions were answered in Episode Two, which to me is when the show really takes off and begins to come alive. Every moment was jam-packed with either action or new information, and I don’t know which I preferred.
The stunt work was, as per usual for Marvel, excellent, but what really drew me in was the worldbuilding and the lore. I thought the idea of there being a cult surrounding one of the Egyptian gods was really interesting, and I immediately wanted them to have more screentime. I won’t go into any specific plot details, but you’ll definitely want to watch with rapt attention in preparation for the end of Episode Four.
Audiences are going to be blown away.
New episodes will be released every Wednesday on Disney+.
