Tomorrow, movie fanatics and Star Wars buffs will have the opportunity to peak behind the silver screen and see how the movie magic comes to life in “Light and Magic” on Disney+.
In a lot of ways, “Light and Magic” reminds me of my favorite docuseries (also a Disney+ Original) “The Imagineering Story,” and that’s a good thing. A really good thing. I especially enjoyed the bits where George Lucas recounted Industrial Light and Magic’s history starting with the first Star Wars movie.
Going into the six-episode series relatively unfamiliar with the division’s history and breadth of work, one thing that interested me was how many non-Star Wars films they work on. I remember seeing their names in the credits, but they do a lot. Like, a lot, a lot.
If you’re a movie fan like I am, you’ll love this series, even more so if you’re a Star Wars fan. I highly, highly recommend it.
Gray is a lifelong Disney fan! From Disney+ to the parks, he loves it all. His favorite Disney movie is Beauty and the Beast, and his favorite attraction is The Haunted Mansion.
