According to our friends at ThemeParkInsider.com, Disneyland’s ever-popular nighttime spectacular ‘Fantasmic!’ will not be shown to guests until at least Spring of next year. This comes as a result of May’s dragon incident, which saw the iconic dragon animatronic, nicknamed Murphy, catch fire in front of guests.
“Our goal is to always deliver the best possible show for our guests,” a Disneyland spokesperson told the site. “With that in mind, we are planning the return of ‘Fantasmic!’ with exciting new magic in spring 2024.”
Disneyland officials also noted that the physical dragon figure would not return with the show but that Mickey would still face off with Maleficent in the show’s finale battle.
Disney also noted that Queenie and the Jambalaya Jazz Band will continue to perform on the Rivers of America in the meantime and is promising announcements about additional entertainment soon.
