After a long hibernation, the Country Bears are ready to awaken and take the stage once again at Magic Kingdom Park’s Grizzly Hall. Starting July 17, the beloved band will debut their all-new show, Country Bear Musical Jamboree, featuring fresh country hits and nostalgic tunes that have entertained audiences for over five decades.
The bears have been busy preparing for their grand return, drawing inspiration from country stars like Mac McAnally, who helped them put a new spin on the classic “Bare Necessities.” Emily Ann Roberts, a rising country star and finalist on “The Voice,” also lent her talents to the show, delivering a twangin’ rendition of “Try Everything” from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Zootopia.” Trixie, one of the band’s most spirited members, is sure to take notes from Roberts’ “bear”-iffic performance.
In addition to these contemporary influences, the Country Bears have also tapped into the timeless magic of Disney. Singer-songwriter Allison Russel and musician Chris Thile collaborated on a sweet version of “A Whole New World” for Wendell and Teddi Barra’s duet.
To ensure they look their best for the big debut, the bears enlisted the help of Disney Live Entertainment’s creative costuming team, who are known for dressing celebrities and bringing characters to life. Wendell and Big Al have already been spotted out and about in their fancy new duds, giving fans a sneak peek of what’s to come.
As the July 17 premiere approaches, anticipation is building for the Country Bears’ triumphant return. Fans are eagerly awaiting the chance to welcome the band back to the stage with plenty of hootin’ and hollerin’. One thing’s for sure: the Country Bear Musical Jamboree is set to be a country-fied good time that will have audiences tapping their toes and singing along to both classic favorites and new hits.
So, “paws” whatever you’re doing and mark your calendars for July 17, because the Country Bears are back and ready to bring down the house at Grizzly Hall.
