Orlando, Fla. (July 31, 2024) — Universal Orlando Resort announced an exciting expansion of its Harry Potter-themed attractions, with the unveiling of “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic,” set to open in 2025 at the new Universal Epic Universe theme park. This new land marks the third installment in Universal’s series of Harry Potter worlds, following the incredibly immersive Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley.
Designed by Universal Creative and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Themed Entertainment, the new park draws inspiration from the magical locales of wizarding Paris and the British Ministry of Magic, as featured in the “Fantastic Beasts” films and the original Harry Potter series. Guests will be transported through time and space, from 1920s Paris to 1990s London, using the innovative Métro-Floo, a magical transit system connecting two distinct wizarding locales.
The land’s signature attraction, “Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry,” is a groundbreaking ride where visitors will chase the infamous Dolores Umbridge through the Ministry’s many departments while riding a magical lift. This ride promises to combine storytelling and advanced technology to deliver an unparalleled immersive experience.
In addition to thrilling rides, the park will feature “Le Cirque Arcanus,” a live show with aerialists and puppetry that explores the darker corners of the wizarding world. Visitors can also indulge in magical shopping experiences at Cosme Acajor Baguettes Magique, a wand shop offering both local and imported wands.
Interactive elements will be scattered throughout the park, allowing guests to use interactive wands to cast spells and interact with their environment, adding to the overall immersive experience. The park will also offer a range of dining options, from French cafés to a mysterious auberge, catering to the tastes of wizards and Muggles alike
With its rich array of experiences and attention to detail, “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic” is set to redefine theme park entertainment and enchant fans and families when it opens its gates next year.
