The New York Times in an article published today has confirmed that the Walt Disney Company is planning to spend 24 billion dollars on expansions and enhancements to their theme parks, resorts, and cruise line.
While touring the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge construction site at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Bob Chapek said that Disney’s new offerings “can’t just be special — it has to be spectacular.” This “expansion on steroids” includes new additions to Disney’s six resorts and the Disney Cruise Line, most of which has been previously announced.
Disney’s plans for expansion go far beyond a new roller coaster, as they strive to increase capacity and give major upgrades to all of their properties.

The New York Times article did, however, inaccurately state that an overhaul to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster was imminent, despite what you may hear from other outlets, Monorail News can confirm that no plans are currently being pursued.
