Disney, in a statement to the Orange County Register, the local paper in Orange County, California, said that Disney California Adventure’s iconic nighttime spectacular, World of Color, will not be returning in until 2019. “
“We know our guests love World of Color and we have been working diligently to bring this experience back as soon as we can,” resort spokeswoman Liz Jaeger said Tuesday. “We are hopeful the show will return in the next several months.”
Disney said that Twitter user @BSeeprs85 explanation that “during regular maintenance (an electronic) control panel was left open when the entire platform was submerged. Destroyed the computer,” is not entirely accurate but declined to provide specifics.
The show has been seen being tested in recent months, but Disneyland said the show isn’t quite right yet and still needs more work.
Disney California Adventure still offers nightly holiday shows and that the Lunar New Year festival and Food & Wine Festival will be returning next year.
