Starting March 12, 2019, Whispering Canyon Café at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge has a brand new menu, with signature, all-you-care-to-enjoy lunch and dinner skillets, as well as breakfast skillets that will debut later this month. So saddle up and find a seat at the table in this fun, frontier-themed restaurant, and play along with the rowdy cast members and their Wild West shenanigans while you decide what to choose from the Cafe’s delicious new array of menu options!
If you are visiting the Café for lunch, the new Signature Lunch Skillet should fill you up with its western-style fare of maple-chipotle BBQ slow-smoked pork ribs, barbecued pull pork, and citrus-herb chicken.
When the dinner bell rings, Whispering Canyon Café offers a Traditional Dinner Skillet, with frontier favorites like oak-smoked mustard BBQ beef brisket, maple-chipotle BBQ pork ribs, slow-smoked pulled pork, and citrus-herb chicken. For the pork lover in your posse, the “Pig” Dinner Skillet should be mighty pleasin,’ with big helpings of braised pork belly, maple-chipotle BBQ pork ribs, slow-smoked pulled pork, and mustard BBQ “piggy wings.” Both the Traditional and the “Pig” Dinner Skillets are also served up with western-style sausage.
For those looking for a combination of sea and land fare, place an order with the Café townsfolk for the Land and Sea Dinner Skillet, a platter of house-smoked salmon, citrus- herb chicken, vegan sausage, and charred portabellas. The new Vegan Dinner Skillet is a mouth-watering feast of maple-chipotle BBQ jackfruit, spicy vegan sausage, mustard-glazed beefless tips and herb-brushed trick’n chick’n.
All of these all-you-care-to-enjoy skillets comes with an assortment of sides, which may include coleslaw, sautéed green beans, buttered corn, oven-roasted carrots, charred peppers, BBQ cauliflower, and Yukon mashed or roasted potatoes. And every dinner skillet comes with the Whispering Canyon Cafe’s freshly-baked cornbread and yummy honey-butter! But don’t forget to leave room for a whopping slice of Apple Pie, which comes dusted with powdered sugar and served with a big dollop of vanilla ice cream!
Nobody should leave lunch or dinner thirsty, as the Café has a selection of wines and draft beers to pair with your signature skillet, as well as some newly-themed cocktails, like the Bourbon Cowboy, garnished with apple slices.
On March 26, the Whispering Canyon Café will start serving its new breakfast skillets. If you are looking for a hearty breakfast, choose from the Heritage Skillet, a sizzling plate full of country potatoes, hickory-smoked bacon, and pork sausage links, or the Carnivore Skillet, with house-smoked ham, hickory-smoked bacon, pork sausage links, and oak-smoked beef brisket. BOTH of these skillets comes with homemade buttermilk-cheddar biscuits, scrambled eggs and, of course, Mickey Waffles!
Those folks who are looking for a lighter beginning to their day can choose the Lighter Side Breakfast Skillet, an appetizing array of Bircher Muesli (Swiss oatmeal), egg-white spinach frittata, turkey bacon and turkey sausage, country potatoes, fresh fruit, yogurt, and yes – Mickey Waffles!
