With Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge opens on May 31, 2019 at Disneyland and August 29, 2019 in Walt Disney World the Play Disney Parks app will receive an update, Star Wars style, to be able to interact with various elements of Batuu at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
Today, Disney has given us our first look at the “Galactic Datapad” part of the Play Disney Parks app experience.
Here’s what it can do:
- Translate galactic languages—both written and spoken.
- Discover precious cargo and digital goods as you scan objects all around the spaceport—including items hidden inside space-shipping crates and containers.
- Tune into communications sent by the planet’s many residents to uncover stories and secrets throughout the land—and unscramble transmissions being sent from far, far away.
- Use the Play Disney Parks app to hack into the land’s many devices, control panels and droids.
We imagine that this app will in some way integrate with the previously announced Galactic Credits feature that is anticipated to come to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
