#DisTwitter blowing up with the news that Disneyland’s Main Street Cinema has become a gift shop.

Personally, something tells me this is just a temporary pop up store that will be gone before the end of the summer. So I’m not freaking out quite yet. It’s telling that the Disneyland website still refers to the Cinema as an attraction.
However, the news still spread like wildfire and outraged #DisTwitter:
IM APPALLED. Like yo @DisneylandToday don’t you guys have enough stores on Main Street? That cinema was nostalgic and classic. https://t.co/fUu8nfHu4Z

The Main Street Cinema has been turned into a store. We are definitely living in the darkest timeline, folks.

The thing that bothers me the most about Main Street Cinema being turned into *yet another store* is that there isn’t even anything unique about what’s on sale. It’s the same mugs and t-shirts and Americana stuff that people already see EVERYWHERE.https://t.co/gaFe7D6Pct

Hey @RobertIger— this is tacky. Some areas of the park can’t be monetized (unless you want to kill the magic and turn the whole thing into a themed strip mall). Main Street Cinema is a unique feature of Disneyland that should be refreshed and preserved.

At least some people tried to look on the bright side:
All that merchandise in the Main Street Cinema makes it look really bad, but at least it might draw in people who’ve never been inside etc. those cartoons deserve to be viewed.
