DisneyParks Blog shared some exciting news today: the opening date of the highly-anticipated Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, and the Galaxy will certainly rejoice when it recognizes its significance!
The second major attraction at Star Wars: Galaxy s Edge will open on December 5, which many fans will remember is Walt Disney’s birthday! As Thomas Smith explained on the DisneyParks Blog, “What better way to honor the ultimate storyteller than by introducing the most immersive and advanced attraction ever imagined in a Disney Park.”
As described on the Blog, …” Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will blur the lines between fantasy and reality and will put guests in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance. Guests will be recruited to join Rey and General Organa at a secret base. Along the way, they will be captured by a First Order Star Destroyer. With the help of some heroes of the Resistance, they break out and must escape the Star Destroyer, protect the secret base, and stay one step ahead of Kylo Ren. “
Following the grand opening of the Disney World attraction , Imagineers will travel across the galaxy to California to complete Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Disneyland Resort in time for its debut on January 17, 2020.
Disney promises they will have more to share about this upcoming “immersive, multi-platform experience” at both of the Parks, and we, along with the rest of the sentients of the Universe, cannot wait!
