The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions publicly announced today that Disney Legend and Imagineer Tony Baxter will be inducted into their Hall of Fame this year.
Over the course of his distinguished career at Walt Disney Imagineering, Baxter has been involved in the creative development of many major attractions, including Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at four of the Disney Theme Parks, Splash Mountain at Magic Kingdom, EPCOT’s Journey Into Imagination, and Star Tours at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Named a Disney Legend in 2013, Baxter became part of Disneyland history when he received his very own window on Main Street USA.
The Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony is normally part of the IAAPA’s annual conference and is typically held in November each year at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando. This year’s event, however, will held virtually due to the ongoing global pandemic.
