Walt Disney World to Remove Temperature Checks

Walt Disney World has just announced that they will be ending mandatory temperature checks at their parks and at Disney Springs later this month, following the advice of the Orange County Department of Health.

The new policy will go into effect for Cast Members on May 8th and for guests on May 16th.

The Orange County Department of health recently called temperature checks a “waste of resources” and health officials have long noting that temperature checks by themselves are not a bulletproof method of keeping COVID-19 at bay due to asymptotic carriers and a lag time between contracting the virus and becoming contagious and showing symptoms like a fever.
