Today, DisneyParks Blog offered its readers a “First Look” inside the reimagining of the Guest rooms in the tower of Disney’s Contemporary Resort, a transformation of the iconic hotel that has symbolized the future of imagination and progress.
According to Jeremy Schoolfield, Managing Editor of Walt Disney Resort Public Relations, in anticipation of Walt Disney World’s upcoming 50th Anniversary this October, Disney Imagineers continue “to build on the optimistic spirit of Disney’s Contemporary Resort, enhancing the retro-modern aesthetic evoking Tomorrowland …with a dash of something Incredible, too.”
Due to make its debut this fall, the new room decor “blends a sleek Monorail motif with some favorite characters from Pixar Animation Studios’ Incredibles films, including Jack-Jack, Frozone and Edna Mode.” Artwork in the Guest rooms on all nine floors of the Contemporary tower, as well as in the corridors, will be “futuristic and oh so stylish, dahling, complementing the Resort’s architecture while putting the Supers’ powers on display.”
New modern art pieces will appear in the Contemporary’s lobby, as well as photographs depicting the history and development of the Resort’s construction. Also part of the Contemporary’s tranformation is its lobby restaurant, The Wave…of American Flavors, which will be closing soon to undergo its own reimagining.
When the refurbishment of the Contemporary’s tower Guests rooms is complete, the work will begin on those in the Resort’s Garden Wing along the shore of Bay Lake.
As part of the “ongoing evolution of the Disney Resorts Collection at Walt Disney World,” Schoolfield says the exciting reimagining of Disney’s Contemporary Resort further “extends the Disney magic from the theme parks to every moment of your vacation.” With “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” beginning on October 1, Disney promises more details on the transformation of Disney’s Contemporary Resort in the months to come!
