Walt Disney World’s EPCOT theme park is introducing new character-themed parking lots as part of its ongoing transformation. The parking lot has been divided into two themes, the “Earth” side and the “Space” side, featuring characters such as Crush, Dory, Hei Hei, Moana, Rocket, Gamora, WALL-E, and Eve. These characters were chosen to reflect the identity of the park and its four neighborhoods and to celebrate the magic of possibility and stories inspired by the real world.
The new parking lot signs are not only functional but also visually appealing, featuring bright and colorful graphics of the characters. EPCOT has long celebrated art, murals, and mosaics, and these character graphics greet guests of all ages to the park in creative and memorable ways. Savvy EPCOT fans may recognize the unique and beautiful designs—the art style used in these character graphics is the same as the EPCOT posters illustrating past, present, and future attractions.
Guests will be able to easily identify the parking lot that corresponds to the area of the park they plan to visit. For example, those visiting the front the park, which explores technological innovations and advancements, will be directed to the “Space” side of the parking lot, featuring characters like Wall-E and Eve. On the other hand, guests visiting the “World Showcase” section, which showcases different cultures and countries, will be directed to the “Earth” side of the parking lot, featuring characters like Moana and Hei Hei.
In addition to the fun enhancements being made to the parking lot and signs, guests also have the new car locator feature in the My Disney Experience app to make it even easier to keep track of where they parked. With this feature, guests can easily find their car’s location on a map, saving them the hassle of wandering around the parking lot trying to remember where they parked.
These new parking lot signs are just one of the many changes taking place at EPCOT as part of its ongoing transformation. From intimate design details to new attractions and spaces for guests to enjoy, 2023 is shaping up to be a year to remember at EPCOT. The redesigned auto plaza marquee, which will be coming later this month, is another exciting addition that guests can look forward to. The new parking lot signs and other changes are all part of Disney’s efforts to make the EPCOT experience more immersive and enjoyable for guests.
