Universal Orlando Resort is set to bring back its eagerly anticipated Universal Mardi Gras: International Flavors of Carnaval, starting this Saturday, February 3, and continuing daily through April 7, 2024. This year, the celebration promises to immerse guests in the vibrant traditions of Mardi Gras, combined with the diverse tastes of Carnaval from around the world, at Universal Studios Florida.
A Global Culinary Journey
The event features an impressive array of over 60 tasting-sized dishes, drawing inspiration from the rich flavors of New Orleans and extending to the global Carnaval scenes from Spain, China, and beyond. Highlights include the classic Fried Green Tomato Po’boy, fluffy Beignets from New Orleans, Chicken Schnitzel from Germany, and Chilaquiles Verdes from Mexico, among others. To enhance the culinary experience, guests can purchase the Universal Orlando Resort Food and Beverage Card, offering savings on the event’s extensive menu.
Spectacular Entertainment and Attractions
Universal Mardi Gras goes beyond the food with a lineup of live concerts by renowned artists like DJ Khaled, Ava Max, Luis Fonsi, and the recently announced Nessa Barrett, adding to the event’s excitement. The concerts will take place on select nights at the Music Plaza Stage, featuring performances by other top artists, including Walker Hayes, The All-American Rejects, and Queen Latifah.
Adding to the festivities, a dazzling Mardi Gras parade will captivate guests with six new floats themed around natural elements like Earth, wind, water, fire, the sun, and the moon, alongside Universal’s traditional New Orleans-inspired floats. For an unforgettable experience, guests can join the Mardi Gras Float Ride and Dine Experience, which combines a delectable 3-course meal with the thrill of participating in the parade itself.
Exclusive Merchandise and After Parties
The celebration extends to an all-new Tribute Store, designed to transport guests on a haunted river cruise through the Mississippi, complete with Mardi Gras merchandise, beads, treats, and even a gator or two. Universal CityWalk joins in the festivities with special offerings like the Year of the Dragon Shake at The Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen, a Mardi Gras After Party at Pat O’Brien’s, and themed entertainment at the Red Coconut Club.
Special Offers and Perks
Universal Orlando is also rolling out incredible ticket offers and perks for Florida residents, U.S., Canada, and Latin America residents, as well as Annual and Seasonal Passholders. These include free days of admission, exclusive discounts, and a “3 Months Free on Any Pass” offer, allowing more guests to enjoy the Mardi Gras party and the many attractions Universal Orlando has to offer.
