As we reported a number of months ago the gondolas of the Disney Skyliner will not have air conditioning, despite some claiming the contrary in the Disney community.
Disney has confirmed this to the Orlando Sentinel. The system will not have air conditioning, but simply passive ventilation. Disney says the gondolas are “specifically tailored to provide a comfortable ride for our guests in the Florida climate.” She confirmed that the vehicles will have only cross-ventilation which was designed to provide sufficient air flow. As we saw at the Destination D event, the cabins will have darkened or reflective windows to reduce the amount of direct sunlight entering and heating the interior.
Thanks to the passive ventilation and the darkened windows we do not anticipate the cabins to become overly hot or uncomfortable.
