Disneyland Guests Will Not Be Allowed to Queue For Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge; Time In Land Will Be Restricted

If you were lucky enough to snag a Disneyland Resort Hotel reservation: congratulations, you will receive reservations to enter Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge! If you weren’t Disney will be offering a limited number of free reservations. If you, however, can’t get a reservation, you will not be able to queue for the land. According to Disneyland VP Kris Theiler :

“There will be no standby access to the land and we want to make sure that that’s clear for guests. We don’t want guests coming to the park thinking, ‘I don’t have a reservation. Maybe I’ll just get in the queue and I’ll be able to get in.’ We’re not going to have a standby line. So it will be limited solely to those guests that have reservations.”

In addition, Disneyland will restrict the amount of time visitors with reservations can spend within the land May 31 to June 23. Theiler also spoke to that:

“We will be giving guests a window of time, but we’re still working through what that looks like and the duration for that. We’ll be working hard to ensure that guests have enough time in the land to see all the great things and experience the attraction. We know guests might want to stay in there all day, but we’ve got a whole big group that wants to get in there. We’re just trying to balance all those things and really deliver the right solution for our guests.”

No advance reservations will be required after June 24, and a virtual queue system for Galaxy’s Edge will be created to allow to enjoy Disneyland while waiting to enter Galaxy’s Edge. The queue system will issue guests boarding passes that will assign them a return time based on land capacity.
