Grandparents, parents, and kids alike are sure to delight in watching Disney+’s newest holiday release, Home Sweet Home Alone, which is a sequel to the amazingly popular 1990 Home Alone film, streaming exclusively on Disney+.
I’m not going to lie, I was skeptical going into the movie because I thought nothing could match the magic of the original or of the New York City-based Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, but this movie surprised me.
It’s not simply a paint-by-numbers version of a well-worn plot, but rather an entertaining new story that is familiar, yet different enough to keep even your family’s resident Scrooge engaged in the Christmas fun.
This is the type of movie that bridges generations and is truly fun for the whole family, not just a movie that parents and grandparents can tolerate for their kids’ sake. Older family members will love the references and callbacks to the OG movies (as the kids say), and younger family members will delight in the slapstick humor.
It’s the perfect movie to watch as a family over Thanksgiving week (and then again every week leading up to Christmas)!
Gray is a lifelong Disney fan! From Disney+ to the parks, he loves it all. His favorite Disney movie is Beauty and the Beast, and his favorite attraction is The Haunted Mansion.
