Mermaids and Pirates are Coming to Disney Dreamlight Valley
All About Disney Dreamlight Valley: The Keepsake Sea Expansion
For years, fans have enjoyed playing Disney Dreamlight Valley on their computers, consoles, and even on Apple Arcade. I'm among them which is why I was so excited with GameLoft invited me to preview their upcoming expansion at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event last month.
This new expansion will take the game across and even under the sea surrounding players' islands. Yes, for the first time, in addition to adding a new island, a Disney Dreamlight Valley expansion will allow players to explore the water as pirates and even merfolk.
And that's not even the best part. When players transform into Murfolk, they will not only be able to swim above the water but also dive deep below where they can move up, down, left, and right at the same time, allowing them to change elevationboth for navigation and building, because yes, players will be able to build under the water.
Players' mermaid avatars will be endlessly customizable. During my preview, I saw what felt like dozens of different distinct designs, from classic mermaid tails ripped straight from The Little Mermaid to imaginative jellyfish-inspired tails. of course, like all clothing items in the game, all of the tails and tops will be recolorable and customizable.
in my hands-off demo, it even seemed as though users could swim underwater from one island to another as we reemerged at the expansion's new island, where you can meet and befriend characters as diverse as Jack Sparrow, who will help you acquire a pirate ship so you can sail the seven seas in style, and Megara, who you can invite back to your island and reunite with Hercules.
this is arguably the game's biggest expansion yet, and it comes out in November for players on computer and console.
