First announced at the D23 Expo 2017, Epcot’s upcoming space themed restaurant is shaping up to be an out of this world experience. Monorail News has obtained information about the restaurant from a French website that highlights employment opportunities in the culinary world.
We now know that this restaurant will be operated by the Patina Restaurant Group, the company that operates Via Napoli in Epcot and Morimoto Asia at Disney Springs, among others at Walt Disney World, Disneyland, and across the globe, and will be named Space 220. That name might sound weird until you realize that the International Space Station is approximately 220 miles above Earth. The ISS orbits Earth much in the way that this restaurant will emulate.
We also have heard that guests will enter this restaurant via elevators that will be similar to the lifts at One World Trade Center’s observation deck in New York City, with video screens that simulate being shot into the air.
