With the recent openings of Mickey’s PhilharMagic at Disney California Adventure and Disneyland Paris, rumors are flying that the original version of the much-beloved show at Disney World’s Magic Kingdom will get a digital upgrade this fall.
Since its premiere in 2003, Mickey’s PhilharMagic has been presented on film projectors. Although there have been no dates formally announced by Disney for enhancements to the show, the attraction has been budgeted to add digital projectors and a remastered version of the guest-favorite film.
Most likely Mickey’s PhilharMagic will close sometime this fall in order to make the much-needed digital improvements to this classic show. In anticipation of its 50th Anniversary in 2021, Magic Kingdom will prepare for the celebration with major refurbishments throughout the park, and the new and improved Mickey’s PhilharMagic will be updated and ready for the magical celebration!
