Entertainment Weekly has announced that the Disney Treasure, Disney Cruise Line’s upcoming sixth ship, will feature a Haunted Mansion-themed bar, expanding the narrative of the famed attraction. This bar is set to launch with the vessel’s inaugural trip in late 2024.

Disney portrays the Haunted Mansion Parlor as the latest chapter in its saga. It unveils the tale of a captain who ventured into the spectral world after a presumably ill-fated dinner with his betrothed. Some speculate whether this captain is an all-new figure or if he relates to known characters from Haunted Mansion’s history. Notably, the attraction features a ghostly sea captain and a mariner’s portrait in certain park versions. This mariner also made a cameo in the 2023 “Haunted Mansion” movie. Furthermore, an unutilized storyline by Imagineer Ken Anderson had spotlighted Captain Gore, a departed sea captain.
This special bar on the Disney Treasure is influenced by the Disneyland variant of the attraction, specifically from the New Orleans Square section, which was introduced in 1966. Fans can anticipate the ride’s distinct purple wallpaper, the memorable “Donald Duck” chair, and an appearance by the iconic hitchhiking spirits behind the bar counter. An attraction-based music piece by Shruti Kumar will serenade guests in the setting.

The Haunted Mansion Parlor will showcase famed figures from its versions at global Disney Parks. These parks include Disneyland, Walt Disney World, and Tokyo Disneyland. The attraction also inspired Phantom Manor in Disneyland Paris (1992) and Mystic Manor in Hong Kong Disneyland (2013). Moreover, Entertainment Weekly suggests the bar might introduce fresh faces to the Haunted Mansion narrative.

Patrons can relish themed drinks, such as the purple “Ghoulish Delight” blending ube-fudge, oat milk, and tapioca pearls. Exclusive memorabilia will also be up for grabs.

The Haunted Mansion Parlor is slated to open its doors alongside the Disney Treasure’s debut in December 2024.
